Quang Nam Central General Hospital (QNCGH) is a second class hospital under the Ministry of Health, with mandate of healthcare for the people in the Central and Highlands region, especially in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces. The hospital was built on an area of nearly 20 hectares by KOICA’s grant aid fund, with the total cost of $ 45 million in which $ 10 million is of counterpart fund. The hospital is equipped with modern and synchronous technology.

QNCGH has a good way to get closer to the people, helping them understand the hospital’s operation and strengths. Recently, the hospital has cooperated with the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Nui Thanh district to organize the dialogue with an aim to listen to opinions, thoughts and concerns of people. For social charity of public health, the hospital has organized more than 26 counselings, medical examination, free medicine distribution, gift giving to nearly 10,000 poor people in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces with total budget of about 700 million VND, excluding fees for echocardiography, general ultrasound, electrocardiogram. In addition, the hospital also has the mechanism of attracting good doctors through monthly income for each doctor which calculated by the hospital management software.

The hospital has implemented many synchronous solutions in order to constantly improve the quality of medical examination and treatment to meet patients' satisfaction such as: Consolidating the organizational structure; Set up 3 teams to supervise the professional and administrative activities as well as health insurance online payment; Link and improve 3 major systems which are the Hospital Intelligence Solution (HIS) - Laboratory Information System (LIS) - Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS). Annual medical examination and treatment are recorded toexceed the set target. On average, the hospital receives anually 125,000 - 130,000 outpatients and 25,000 - 30,000 inpatients. Mr. Dinh Dao - Director of Quang Nam Central General Hospital said that the quality of human resource must be the key factor to promote the quality of medical examination and treatment for patients. The hospital leaders always have a "headache" to solve the "blockage" of human resource. The fact that, hospital is located in rural area where the socio-economic infrastructure is still limited, the living condition of people is not very high. So, it is difficult to attract and recruit long-term employees with good expertise. However, with effective support of Quang Nam PPC for working place, human resource, housing land, and especially astrategic policy to attract doctors from 2017, the hospital has its human resource development plan such as: Standardizing the planning staffs and having intensive training of core personnel in the hospital’s key and strong areas; Forming team works associated with the recruitment of 30-50 doctors in 2017, and 50-70 doctors by 2020 in order to implement high-tech service packages within the Scheme of satelite hospital for Hanoi Medical University Hospital, Hanoi Heart Hospital, Central K Hospital, National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
